Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are absolutely the most amazing Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies ever! An all-time favorite, these cookies are perfect after school with a glass of cold milk, your morning coffee or your afternoon tea.

INGREDIENTS

200 gr./ 7.05 oz. butter
50 gr./ 1.76 oz. shortening
150 gr./ 5.3 oz. granulated sugar
50 gr./ 1.76 oz. light brown sugar
1 large egg
400 gr./ 14.11 oz. all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
200 gr./ 7.05 oz. chocolate chip

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350°F/ 175°C. Lightly grease or line with parchment two baking sheets.

In a small bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder. Set aside.

Beat together the shortening, sugar, egg, vanilla, and butter until smooth.

Add the flour and chocolate chips to the butter mixture, beating gently until everything is well combined.

Drop the cookies by the tablespoonful onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2″/ 5cm apart and flattening the balls slightly with the bottom of a glass.

Bake the cookies for 12 to 16 minutes, until they’re barely beginning to brown around the edges; the tops won’t have browned. Remove them from the oven, and cool on a rack.
