Homemade Burgers

Juicy, aromatic  Homemade Greek style Burgers !!! I hope this Burger Recipe becomes a new favorite for you.

 INGREDIENTS

For the burgers

800 gr./ 28.22 oz. ground meat (your choice: beef, pork, lamb, chicken or turkey)
3 medium red onions, finely chopped
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon chopped fresh spearmint
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 eggs
100 gr./ 3.53 oz. wheat rusks, crumbs
150 gr./ 5.29 oz. water
50 gr./ 1.76 oz. olive oil

For the topping

8 store-bought burger buns or 8 homemade burger buns
8 slices medium cheddar cheese (thick sliced)
8 slices  bacon, crumbled
2 large tomato sliced into 8 rings
1 bunch green lettuce leafs
1 medium red onion thinly sliced into rings

For the Burgers sauces

3 tablespoons mayonnaise + 1 tablespoon barbeque sauce
3 tablespoons mayonnaise + 1 tablespoon mustard

INSTRUCTONS

Place the ground meat in a bowl.

Add all the ingredients to the beef and knead with your hands until all the ingredients are well mixed and blended with the meat for about 5 minutes.

Cover the bowl and let the meat sit in the refrigerator for about an hour.

Preheat oven to 375℉/ 180℃ fan.

Remove the beef 10 minutes before cooking. Form in 8 patties and flatten them. Place them on a rimmed baking sheet that is lined with parchment paper. Roast for 30-40 minutes. Remove from oven and top with cheese.

Meanwhile slice, and prepare all of your burger toppings and sauces.

Pre-heat a fry pan over medium-high heat.  Add bacon to pan and cook until the bacon starts to brown on one side. Flip the bacon and cook the other side too.

Spread the cut-side of the buns with the sauce of your choice.  Arrange 2 lettuce leaves on the bottoms of each hamburger bun and place the patties on top. Top with bacon, tomato and red onion. Place the top bun on each burger and serve it immediately.
